I
grew up in an art room. My mother
taught art for 25 years, and I have
aspired to teach art since I was a
child. I feel confident,
comfortable, and passionate about
art education. For the past three
years I have been fortunate to teach
art in some unique cultural
experiences. For two years I worked
with middle & high school students
in a Yup’ik Eskimo village in
southwest Alaska. Togiak is a
sustainable hunting and fishing
community, where my students spoke
English as a second language. I
enjoyed immersing myself in the
unique Native culture, while helping
my students create permanent works
for the school.
I am currently teaching art in
Bangkok Thailand. I have expanded my
awareness through teaching
elementary, middle and high school
students from around the world. I
enjoy providing creative experiences
relevant to my students and the
world around them.
I am a hardworking, outgoing, and
dedicated teacher. I am interested
in an experience where I can use my
creativity, enthusiasm and knowledge
to challenge my students and myself
to achieve greater appreciation and
skills in art. I am looking to
return to the United States & find a
community to call home. |
